Senderos del Sembrador is a non-profit association that works with and for adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. We offer direct services to 35 families with: Day Center, Saturday Club and Coexistence Housing. We coordinate Autonomous Living programs to promote comprehensive development, autonomy and inclusion.

There are four axes in our tasks: actions focused on people, promotion of art and tourism, physical activity and citizen participation.

Some of our actions are:

• Organize the International Congress of Good Practices in Disability of Vicente López, where he shares his innovative and creative experiences with other actors in the field of disability, in conjunction with the Municipality of Vicente Lopez. In 2023 more than a thousand people participated in the in-person and virtual modalities

• We carry out training independently or in conjunction with the Instituto Facultar, an educational entity that offers courses and workshops on different topics related to disability.

• We are a member of the Honorary Advisory Committee of COPIDIS, the Commission for the Full Participation and Inclusion of People with Disabilities of the City of Buenos Aires, where we contribute our experience and knowledge to improve public policies on disability.

• We have participated in various sports competitions, promoting inclusive sports

• We promote art, with our Art a la carte and Art a la carte rolling workshop, which tours the country's artists.

• We integrate COMUINIDS into the council for the inclusion of people with disabilities of Vicente López

• We have agreements with various national and international universities, such as the University of Buenos Aires, the National University of Quilmes and the Universidad Siglo XXI, to carry out pre-professional internships and solidarity internships with students from different careers.

• We collaborate with institutions at various levels, such as Northland School and tertiary institutes of the City of Buenos Aires, to carry out awareness-raising, training and recreation activities.

• We promote training throughout the country and abroad, led by Karina Guerschberg, our director, who is a reference in the field of intellectual disability and adult life.

• We generate knowledge, with a variety of publications, on topics such as accessible tourism, convivial housing and rehabilitation.

• We advise families regarding the situation of people with disabilities and adult life projects, providing them with guidance, support and resources.

For all this we have received various recognitions:

- The international recognition of TrustLaw, the global pro bono legal assistance service of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, for its coexistence housing project for people with intellectual disabilities, which seeks to guarantee their right to an independent and dignified life.

- Management quality certification by Plena Inclusion Spain (we are the only organization of this type in Argentina that has accredited the Spanish quality management system for disability organizations)

- We have received various distinctions from the Senate of the Nation, Deputies of the Nation, and the Deliberative Council of Vicente Lopez, as well as distinction from the Lions Club, among others.

2023 In numbers:

- we provide direct care to 35 people with disabilities and their families

- We train more than 200 professionals

- 450 people were trained as personal assistants

- More than 1000 people participated in the Good Practices Congress

- 6 papers presented at conferences

- 2 newspaper articles

- Leading 4 presentations at conferences

- 26 places in Buenos Aires visited in the Saturday Club

It is an unfair summary of our activities, there is much that is left out...

    Independent Living, Assisted Living

Adults with disabilities want to choose where and with whom to live. We want to live with friends. But we need assistance. That is why our assisted living project allows us to live among friends and be as independent as we can be
