HelpArgentina: A bridge to the Argentine Social Sector
HelpArgentina is a foundation that promotes philanthropy by helping individuals, businesses and foundations identify and support effective non-profits within Argentina. By working with organizations that meet its criteria for best practice and accountability HelpArgentina seeks to increase confidence in the Argentine nonprofit sector and to promote the culture of giving among Argentines
We use strict criteria to evaluate local non-profits for transparency and impact, and provide a secure and efficient infrastructure to deliver donations and grants to these organizations. As a 501c3 public charity, donations made through HelpArgentina are tax deductible in the United States.

How we achieve our Goals:
- We have a profound understanding of the critical social issues in Argentina.
- We maintain close relationships across the Argentine social sector.
- We advocate for standards of best practice, and transparency, and we work with organizations that meet the criteria we have established.
- We provide a secure channel to connect international donors with high-impact social organizations in Argentina
- We work with a network of more than 60 best practice member organizations which represent the thematic and geographic diversity of Argentina’s social sector.
- We maintain an online information platform which allows donors to identify and support organizations that align with their interests.
- We pilot innovative social and philanthropic concepts in Argentina that have been developed in the United States and Europe.
Since 2003, we have channeled more than US$3 million in donations to social organizations in Argentina
Services Offered to Social Investors
For individual donors
- We identify and assess opportunities for high-impact social investment according to a donor´s personal objectives
- We offer a network of preapproved member organizations , and also evaluate organizations outside of our network that have been identified by donors to assure that they meet the requirements needed to receive donations under U.S. law
- We offer project administration services which allow donors to support projects which align with their specific goals. These services include: designing project selection criteria, fundraising support, funds administration, project monitoring and impact evaluation.
- We provide a safe, secure system to process international donations -accepting donations in the form of cash, personal checks, electronic transfers, credit card, and stocks and bonds.
- We maintain total confidentiality regarding to the identity of donors if a donor indicates that they would not like to make their support public
- We keep donors informed as to the impact of their social investment
- We identify and assess community investment alternatives that meet with the company’s strategic objectives
- We analyze the needs and issues facing the local communities in which a businesses operates and work to promote interaction with the key stakeholders.
- We support the design and implementation of community investment projects
- We monitor the progress and evaluate the results of social investments.
- We offer opportunities to include employees in the process of selecting social investments by developing selections processes that allow employees to We help establish and support programs for employee donations and corporate volunteering.
- We offer volunteers highly personalized experiences working with non-profit organizations in Argentina
- We work to ensure an experience that is valuable for both the volunteer and the organization
- We cultivate long-term relationships between the organization and the volunteers after they have returned to their home countries.
How HelpArgentina is financed
The organization is financed by commissions generated through the administration of funds and grants, philanthropic consulting services, individual donations, and grants from international foundations.
HelpArgentina’s fee structure for processing funds is as follows:
1. Donations to HelpArgentina’s Member Organizations: 5% plus transfer costs
2. Donations to organizations that are not members of HelpArgentina: 6.5% plus transfer costs
3. Administration of Projects and Grants: the cost is determined in accordance with the particular situation (investment, complexity, geographic location, etc).
